Description
Here's a very rare Diploma from a Dance Band Contest, held on Friday September 29th 1933 at the Palais de Danse in Nottingham. This was AUTOGRAPHED by LOUIS ARMSTRONG, who was one of the judges.
This was signed by Louis while on his second UK tour in 1933. The contest (and the tour) was organized by MELODY MAKER.
Very nice piece of early UK jazz history! This diploma was issued to B. Young, bassist of Frank Young's Dance Orchestra.
Condition: Diploma is very used, hat several tears and some paper loss on the edges. But overall this finly printed piece on thick paper still makes a very good impression. It would look very attractive, when framed.
