ANOTHER RARE JAZZ RECORD ON 78rpm BY LOUIS ARMSTRONG AND HIS HOT SEVEN (Louis Armstrong trumpet; Kid Ory trombone; Johnny Dodds clarinet and alto sax; Lil Armstrong piano; Edward Garland bass; Buddy Sincere banjo; Babe Dodds drums) THIS ONE WAS ORIGINALLY RECORDED IN 1927, RE-PRESSED AND ISSUED IN NEW YORK IN February 1939 FOR UHCA MAMBERS. IT IS ON THE UHCA LABEL SONGS ARE: POTATO HEAD BLUES & PUT EM' DOWN BLUES. THIS ONE SHOWS PLENTY OF GLOSS AND LUSTER, PLAYS WITH EXCELLENT SOUND FOR A VINTAGE 78 OF THIS AGE AND GRADES AS A VG++ TO A MINT- ALL THE WAY. These Collectable 78's are getting very hard to find anymore, and the good ones are quickly becoming scarce. This 78 is from the large collection of Rock & Roll and R&B & Jazz 78's that I have in my personal collection, and it would pay to mark this site as one of your favorites as there will be plenty more to come.
