Description

PAUL WHITEMAN'S RHYTHM BOYS (Al Rinker, Harry Barris and Bing Crosby) were a truly groundbreaking vocal trio, who burst upon the scene in 1927 with unprecedented harmonies, rhythm, and humor.  They were sensational on their own hook, and were the inspiration for a whole new school of singing, which culminated in the great work of the Boswell Sisters, a few years later.  


HERE is one of their finest moments on records:  "SO THE BLUEBIRDS AND THE BLACKBIRDS GOT TOGETHER" and the "talkie hit" from the Paramount picture, "Innocents of Paris," "LOUISE."  Both titles feature some astonishing singing by Bing Crosby, who foreshadows his own brilliant career.  


This original 1929 "Viva-Tonal" Columbia 1819-D is in swell EE- condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care.
