I bought this LP in February 1972.  Seldom played.


Cover - Shrink on.  About 1/4 inch starting to tear at top of open end.  Otherwise no writing, minor shelving evidence.  Cut-out hole upper left.


Vinyl - No scratches, minor rubs.


Sleeve - Clear plastic.

The Prestige Bluesville discography site says this was released in 1964.  Another source says it was recorded in NYC 1965.  I’ll go with the 1965 but who knows?


Pete Welding’s liner notes are informative.  This LP features Alec Seward singing & playing guitar and Larry Johnson playing harmonica.  They remind us a lot of Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee.  No wonder according to the notes.

Many of Seward’s timeless lyrics will make you smile.  Larry Johnson plays a great harp, adding to the fun.  This is really a very nice record of a type of blues you don’t have to crank up the volume for.
