I've cleaned the record and played it from beginning to end. There are a number of scratches on the vinyl. It did not "skip" for me, but there is consistent surface noise, not quite throughout the entire record, but very frequent. In spite of the surface noise, the recording does have a rich sound to it, which tells me that the surface noise is solely due to the scratches and not any embedded dust or dirt. So it's really about listening preference. I know some search for the perfect copy, others can do with something less than that.
