This record has been cleaned and played through completely both sides on a Thorens Turntable as well as visually inspected under a bright halogen desk lamp to provide an accurate grading.
LP’s are packed outside their covers to guard against ring-wear & splits during transit and then placed inside a plastic outer protective sleeve for safe delivery.

CONDITION

LABELS : A-side is clean / B-side has a minor tear at left of spindle hole as per photo above

SLEEVE : fantastic / no writing / no marks or splits / the corners are square and the spine is intact / a light crease at lower left corner on the front only / the faint beginnings of ring-wear on the back only however only light as per the photo above / presents exceptionally well and you would be hard pressed to ever find a better Aussie jacket than this beauty.

DESCRIPTION

This particular issue, with rear cover flaps, was released here on the EMI / Capitol Turquoise & Silver label (SENC 9473 ~ Stereo) and amazingly doesn’t appear in any reference or catalogue listings anywhere for this album …though I see one is available on another web-site for over AUD$400.00.

Chocolate Watch Band is high on everyone's list as one of the most exciting garage bands ever….and this is as good as garage-psych gets. Hailing from San Jose, California, the band’s line-up features the the pouting, Mick Jagger-influenced lead vocals of Dave Aguilar, the thrilling guitars of Sean Tolby and Mark Loomis, the solid bass of Bill Flores and the thumping drums of Gary Andrijasevich.

The Inner Mystique, the 2nd of only 3 ever albums, puts you in the middle of a hippie ballroom with legendary producer Ed Cobb's instrumental "Voyage of the Trieste" and "In the Past," which use enough psychedelic guitar, electric sitar and exotic shakers and rattles to grow your hair at least two inches overnight. Ray Davies' "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" sounds like it was written just for the Watch Band, and Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" is a jingle-jangle masterpiece.

Side 1 here was recorded by the same studio musicians responsible for the instrumental tracks on their first album, and represents the primary psychedelic aspect of the LP. It features sitar driven exploitation style pop/psych with eastern flavor…. Side 2 is the real Chocolate Watchband doing their typically heavily Stones influenced punk cover versions.

As one fan put it … the instrumentals these guys did were "out of this world" and displayed the true nature of the lost, stoned transcending levitational psychedelic euphoric mist….(get the drift?)

By no means an easy album to acquire these days let alone in such superb condition.
