We were fortunate to have acquired part of a 60's DJ hoard !! He reviewed albums & DJ'd for radio stations and received albums to review - many appear to have only been played once - promo, DJ.and sample, copies may be 1st pressings also. We will be adding albums on a daily basis!!
WISHBONE ASH
Live From Memphis is a live promotional recording by Wishbone Ash. The promotional recording featured only a few tracks and was only released in America. On the 2002 remastered version of Argus the entire EP was included as bonus tracks.
The album has never officially been released on CD in its own right, although a recording of the original broadcast, including previously unreleased tracks, was pressed as a bootleg CD in 2009. Although this appears to be endorsed by Andy Powell (the disc was offered for sale at his 2009 Wishbone Ash concerts), this release was made without license from Universal, who own the copyright, and without the approval of the other original members of the band who appear on the disc.

The PROMOTIONAL, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed among the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals", which is to say the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record (a rather moot point here, since this rare promo-only release was never commercially released to begin with).
