Description

EARLY PRESS, MAYBE FIRST STEREO PRESS.  The first pressing was Mono in 1964, with Stereo pressings first being made in 1966.  These are listed on discogs; mine not perfectly consistent with any single stereo listing, but most similar to one suggesting this might be properly characterized as a  "first stereo press".  Here are the matrices:

There is no "ear" and there is no "114" which was noted on one of the 1966 stereo pressings.  It does have these features identified on discogs also:
"The label is identical to The Horace Silver Quintet - Song For My Father (Cantiga Para Meu Pai), but the back cover is different: no address is listed at the bottom, and a logo and small 84185 are printed on the top left and right corners, respectively, in place of the larger serif type for the other version.
Also similar to The Horace Silver Quintet - Song For My Father = Cantiga Para Meu Pai, but that has a smaller pressing ring and a back cover that has 'BLP-4185/84185' in the top right. Presumably, this version was pressed in 68-70, since the mono number from the latter example has been removed."
Jacket with moderate to heavy corner wear, light edge wear, no marks or splits, light soiling back jacket mostly around edges.  LP stored in original inner sleeve, no splits.  LP LOOKS QUITE PLAYABLE, with some light scratches both sides, I'll visually grade in the VG+ to VG++ range.
