LP ITALIAN PROG BEAT THE PRIMITIVES  ,1st Press 1967 Original Italy VERY RARE!!!

Original first issue on ARC SA 22 YEAR 1967 VERY RARE IMPOSSIBLE TI FIND in THESE FIRST ITALIAN ISSUE and mint cover !!

Cover record psych BEAT prog LAMINATED is in Great condition MINT-- SEE THE PHOTO

the record it in ex-- codition so do not have any heavy scratch or mark only some MORE superficial lines but in these heavy record is nothing the sound is eccellent  - the labels are GREAT!!

BLOW-UP: in 1967 it was something more Italian equivalent of "enlargement forografico." That verb instantly reminded of Michelangelo Antonioni film with David Hemmings who played a photographer in Swingin 'London of the late sixties.
But "blow-up" in this case also had a sense if you look at the album cover, which depicts the same picture enlarged several times.
I say "Italian" because it is produced by Alberico Crocetta for ARC.
And I say "beat although we all know that in '67 the beat was imploded to make way for flower power, pop, the so-called" border "and other musical currents that lasted the space of a morning or that would have been in time slowly changing their primordial form.
The first thing that stands out is the look of the four British men: apart from the hair of Mal, very different from the "bud" that we learned about from '68 onwards, their clothing that might be curious.
Never thought I would be "mod" style Who or "dandy" to the Kinks.
Their sound is dirty, rough (the Who) but elegant at the same time (the Kinks). A very special where every song sound like something out of a recording made in London or Marquée Piper Club Capital.
If you notice this disc looks like a live studio rather than a product.
The arrangements are skinny but basic and the voice of Paul Bradley Couling - that would soon become "His Excellency Mal Of Primitives" and would dream for at least a couple of years a bevy of girls thirteen infoiate bad - it is actually sensual and carries forward the discourse "Primitives" all by herself.
Not for nothing Mr. Crocetta, how stupid it was, has led him to become a solo diamond before 'label Piper Club and later incorporated by the parent RCA.
The SPIN SPIN we hear is light years away from that of Peacock but also from the R & B version of Rocky Roberts (needless to trouble the Four Tops).
In fact, here r'n'b does not even peek in its place a rhythm tiratissimo bass-drums-guitar. The same YEEEEEEH! we all know very well is different from the version of the Young Rascals of Brigati and Cavaliere (by the way, how can a group that recorded a dreamy piece as GROOVIN 'only two years before and so blatantly beat?) and the same for Sookie Sookie Don Covay, untranslatable in Italian, but which can give you a sense onomatopoeic (foaming at the mouth when you see a very sexy girl) is different from both the version of the same Covay that the next of talented Steppenwolf.
I could say "much closer to the version of Carrà" '71 but you would take me crazy.
There is also a piece of Rocky Roberts, but probably because it is co-signed with Cassia.
Of one thing you can not accuse the quartet of Primitives: of little personality.
Too bad the craving egocentric Mal did it last so little.

BLOW-UP: nel 1967 era già qualcosa di più dell'equivalente italiano di "ingrandimento forografico". Quel verbo rammentava all'istante un film di Michelangelo Antonioni con David Hemmings che impersonava un fotografo nella Swingin' London della fine degli anni sessanta.
Ma "blow-up" in questo caso aveva anche un senso se si guarda la copertina del disco, che raffigura la stessa fotografia ingrandita più volte.
Dico "italiano" perchè è stato prodotto da Alberico Crocetta per la ARC.
E dico "beat nonostante tutti noi sappiamo che nel '67 il beat stava per implodere per far posto al flower power, al pop, al cosiddetto "border" e ad altre correnti musicali che sarebbero durate lo spazio di un mattino o che sarebbero rimaste nel tempo modificando pian piano la loro forma primordiale.
La prima cosa che risalta è il look dei quattro ragazzi inglesi: a parte il capello di Mal, molto diverso da quello "cotonato" che abbiamo imparato a conoscere dal '68 in poi, è il loro abbigliamento che ci potrebbe incuriosire.
Indecisi se essere "mod" in stile Who o "dandy" alla Kinks.
Il loro suono è sporco, rozzo (alla Who) ma elegante allo stesso tempo (alla Kinks). Un sound veramente particolare dove ogni canzone sembra uscita da una registrazione effettuata al Marquée londinese o al Piper Club capitolino.
Se ci fate caso questo disco sembra un live più che un prodotto da studio.
Gli arrangiamenti sono scarni ma essenziali e la voce di Paul Bradley Couling - che da lì a poco sarebbe diventato "Sua Eccellenza Mal Dei Primitives" ed avrebbe fatto sognare per almeno un paio d'anni uno stuolo di ragazzine tredicenni infoiate di brutto - è effettivamente sensualissima e porta avanti il discorso "Primitives" tutto da sola.
Non per niente il signor Crocetta, che stupido non era, ha fatto sì che diventasse un solista, punta di diamante prima dell' etichetta Piper Club e poi inglobato dalla casa madre RCA.
Il GIRA GIRA che ascoltiamo è lontano anni luce da quello della Pavone ma anche da quello in versione r'n'b di Rocky Roberts (inutile scomodare i Four Tops).
Difatti qui il r'n'b non fa neanche capolino:al suo posto un ritmo tiratissimo basso-batteria-chitarra. Lo stesso YEEEEEEH! che tutti conosciamo benissimo è differente dalla versione dei Young Rascals di Brigati e Cavaliere (a proposito, com'è possibile che un gruppo che incide un pezzo sognante come GROOVIN' solo due anni prima sia così smaccatamente beat?)e lo stesso SOOKIE SOOKIE di Don Covay, intraducibile in italiano ma al quale si può dare un senso onomatopeico (bava alla bocca quando si vede una ragazza molto sexy)è diverso sia dalla versione dello stesso Covay che da quella successiva dei bravissimi Steppenwolf.
Potrei dire "molto più vicina alla versione della Carrà" del '71 ma mi prendereste per matto.
C'è anche un pezzo di Rocky Roberts, ma probabilmente perchè è co-firmato con Cassia.
Di una cosa non si può accusare il quartetto dei Primitives: di poca personalità.
Peccato che la smania egocentrica di Mal l'abbia fatto durare così poco.
