Description
First, this is a FIRST PRESSING, EAST COAST with matrix numbers "ST-1-2047-A1" on Side 1 and "ST2-2047-A1" on Side 2 - see photos of matrix numbers. THE ERROR IS THAT BOTH SIDES HAVE A SIDE 2 LABEL!! Note in the photos that one of the labels has some inked name identification on top; the other doesn't have any ink markings. The record is pressed correctly - the matrix numbers associated with Side 1 have Side 1 songs, and the same for Side 2.
The jacket has damage as seen - the spine is taped up, the bottom edge has a split about 5" from the left, top edge has wear, faint ring front side, no markings front or back jackets. ORIGINAL COBALT BLUE INNER SLEEVE, split on bottom center about 4".
Record has light sheen of scratches mostly, few more visible scratches. I'd grade in the G range because of this sheen of scratches, certainly not chewed up as some early Beatles records are, but playability would likely not be perfect.
I'VE NOT SEEN THIS LABEL ERROR BEFORE; don't know how uncommon or valuable this makes the record....but I would certainly guess it increases the overall collectibility of this FIRST PRESSING of Meet the Beatles!
