MY RATINGS: They are visual ratings done under a strong light. Generally, I will not listen to a record for the purpose of grading it. If I have, I will say so in the description.
M = Mint New, still sealed.
NM = Near Mint. Looks like new. Likely played once or twice.
VG++ = Very Good Plus...plus! This is when I personally think a record is worth more than 1/2 the NM value of Goldmine LP Record Grading Standards...which is what a VG+ is worth according to "the book." Wanted to say NM but know it's been played more than once or twice.
VG+ = Very Good Plus. This is the rating most of my records will get. A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that shouldn't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner cut indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. In general, if not for a few little things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors should find a VG+ record highly acceptable. VG+ LPs might even have a bit of noise between songs and maybe a bit elsewhere in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't take away a VG+ rating if one or two songs had a slight "pop" or "crackle" in one or two spots.
VG = Very Good. Same as above but will definitely have some LIGHT "pops" and "crackles" in more than 1 or 2 spots. May have some visible scratches that should not make the record skip.
G = Good in the book...but if I give a record a G it generally means bad but I can get away with calling good because the book says I can! It still shouldn't skip though. If I think a song will skip, I will listen grade it and won't sell it if it skips.

SHIPPING/HANDLING COST: Shipping and handling are two separate costs
WHEN PAID BY PAYPAL: I charge the actual shipping cost plus $3.00 handling on first auction then add $1.00 handling for each additional auction up to a maximum $10.00 handling charge. So you will pay somewhere between $3.00 and $10.00 for handling depending on how many auctions you win.
NO PAYPAL FROM OUTSIDE CANADA & USA
Auctions must end within 7 days of each other to qualify for the multiple auction shipping and handling calculation.
One LP record generally costs about $10.00-$12.00 for the actual shipping cost in Canada and to the USA. This is for the service called Expedited Parcel which includes a tracking # and insurance. I won't ship ebay items that are paid by Paypal without a tracking #.
Here are some examples of ACTUAL SHIPPING costs via expedited parcel: (Remember to add appropriate handling charges detailed above.)
4 LPs to Florida: $14.71 10 LPs to Maine: $20.97 4 LPs to Ontario: $10.70 10 LPs to Nova Scotia: $17.18 20 LPs to California: $27.93 20 LPs to Alberta: $15.24 1 LP to Quebec: $9.84 1 LP to New York: $11.82
The above EXPEDITED PARCEL rates were calculated at www.canadapost.ca using V8C2J1 as originator's postal code, weights of .375KG per LP (including packaging) and measurements of 36cm X 34cm X height of 1cm per 2 LPs.
If you are not in Canada or the USA, please shoot me an email with your address and I'll get you a s/h quote.
You will get the following emails from me if you win one of my auctions:
- An invoice which will have the total in USD and payment options.
- Confirmation of receipt of payment with shipping information.
- A tracking # where applicable. Outside Canada and USA packages will not have tracking #s.
- A friendly reminder if payment has not been received somewhere around 10-14 days after the auction close date. I will likely use the "Send a payment reminder" link on the auction page.
- An Unpaid Item Dispute will be posted at somewhere around 21 days after auction close date (if item has not been paid or I haven't heard from you) and concise, factual, Negative Feedback will be left at approximately 30 days after auction end if still not paid. The feedback will not be malicious in any way. It will state dates of auction end, reminders and re-list day. If this happens, you will get an "Unpaid Item Strike." If you get 3 strikes...well you know the story.
PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE BID ON ONE OF MY AUCTIONS, ADD billvollrath@telus.net as well as mountainmusic1@hotmail.com to your accepted emails if you have a spam blocker.
Please include the auction # in any correspondence. I reserve the right to return items to stock if they are not paid within 14 days of the auction end.
