This copy is my second in 25 years ( I kept the first copy for my own collection)
The phonographic version of the ¨Symphonie ROUGE¨ dating back to 1947 was first recorded on a magnetic tape. It is now reserved to collectors. The document as it is here set out after having been left in the dark for 20 years, shows how original and brilliant this work is.
As his previous LP (on SFP 30 006 ) called ¨Le Robot¨ ( 1947 / 1954 ) the¨Symphonie ROUGE¨ sounds like a puzzle which was recorded at the time which makeshifts. As a result, parts of this Symphonie had to be recorded again. As far as the technic is concerned, the ¨Symphonie Rouge¨ is interesting because it uses both the traditional writing for orchestras, Concrete Music but also the Martenot Waves and a specific Electro-Acoustic device which had never been used in a musical work before ( * The very first works of Pierre SCHAEFFER date from 1948 / 50 )
Paul BOISSELET is probably the first composer in the history of music to use, in the ¨Symphonie JAUNE¨, a technic in musical writing derived from a technic which was used in cinema. Indeed, he worked on soundtracks either recorded in studios or outside. He did that himself on hundreds of meters of magnetic tapes . He then, manipulated , mixed, cut the various parts of the Symphonie in order to keep the best sequences and thus to give to the whole work an harmonious sound despite the bursting of the traditional structures.( excerpt from the inner notes , in french )

CONDITION

COVER : VG + to EX - : Creases, light yellowing, age wear, light water stain on right edge corner (bottom) inside gatefold . Stamped on back like all copys.
RECORD : Looks VG + / EX to EX + : Side A : 1 little scratch (5 mm) on beginning side, it produce soft tics a few more audible on second part of the mark. A cluster of 3 little marks ( 3, 5, 3 mm) in the middle of LP on same place, it produce soft tics / tics on 8 mm. Plays with soft crakles at times and more audible on beginning sides.

GRADING

M (Mint) : As new / Sealed
NM (Near Mint) : Near perfect copy , played only a few times. No surface marks
EX + (Excellent +) : A very few light signs of usage
EX (Excellent) : Cover / record slightly used, a few slight surface marks / scuffs - minor things
EX - (Excellent -) : Usual wear, some slight surface marks / scuffs - can be a few tics, nothing serious.
VG + (Very Good +) : Cover wear, record has marks / scuffs and perhaps more tics but the condition remains nevertheless correct.
VG (Very Good) : Bad condition, more damage, record played a lot but listenable, no jump
G + (Good +) : Sold only because of the rarity for collection (see details in condition )
