Description
LP ROLLING STONES "12X5" (DECCA / LONDON LL.3402) UK 1965 EXPORT ALBUM.
Possibly one of the most obscure British pressed Rolling Stones albums on Decca. Pressed in 1965 for export to the USA. No picture sleeve as I believe the USA added their own London made sleeves, the catalogue number here is obviously the same as the USA albums had on London over there. Why UK Decca made LPs for the USA market is a mystery to me, although I once picked up a load of classical LPs on Decca also with USA catalogue numbers, so it did happen. However, ROLLING STONES UK export LPs are as rare as anything and this one is REALLY obscure. Here in the Uk anyway.
As you can seefrom the pictures each label has a small tear. The surface on the vinyl looks well played with quite a few light marks. However I played the whole LP and it plays really really well. A nice & loud pressing with tons of fidelity and anysurface noise is pretty quiet once the tracks plays. Plays far far better than I expected!
The oddest thing is the cut of this LP, it sounds totally different to the UK Decca LPs. Much much crisper and louder, and while these tracks were all issued in the Uk eventually (some in the 70s) these versions sound quite different. Is it possible these may even have some different versions of these songs? There are tambouries and backing vocals that I had not heard before on the later UK issues of many of these tracks.
