Just ten days after the release of Dio's seminal sophomore album, The Last In Line, on July 24th 1984 the band were in Washington state, in the northwest corner of the USA, to play a concert at Spokanes Coliseum venue, an event that was broadcast to the entire country courtesy of a King Biscuit simulcast across numerous FM stations. Somewhat surprisingly Dio played just two numbers from the new record during the show, namely We Rock and Mystery, the opening songs for the evenings proceedings. After this introduction, a further four cuts from their debut, Holy Diver, rubbed shoulders with Black Sabbath's Mob Rules, Heaven & Hell and Children Of The Sea (all of which are Dio/Iommi compositions) and Rainbows Long Live Rock & Roll and Man On The Silver Mountain (both Dio/Blackmore). This album contains this legendary broadcast in its entirety, which serves as a classic reminder of what a powerful and dynamic group Dio were and how sadly missed the late Ronnie James Dio remains.
