"Desolation Boulevard" is the third studio album by the English glam rock band Sweet. However, the LP with the catalog number ST-11395 is the version released by Capitol Records in the United States and Canada in 1975, which is notably different from the original UK version from 1974.

The US version is a compilation of tracks from the UK "Desolation Boulevard" album and its predecessor, "Sweet Fanny Adams." The tracklist was curated to include the band's most successful singles in the US market, making it a powerful and cohesive album. It features a perfect blend of hard rock, glam, and pop sensibilities that defined the band's sound at their peak.

The album is most famous for containing two of Sweet's biggest and most enduring hits:

  • "Ballroom Blitz": A timeless, high-energy party anthem.

  • "Fox on the Run": Another smash hit, known for its distinctive synthesizer riff and vocal harmonies. The version on this album is the re-recorded single version, which is different from the original UK album track.

In addition to the hits, "Desolation Boulevard" includes powerful album tracks like "The Six Teens," "Set Me Free," and "Sweet F.A.," which showcase the band's prowess as hard rock musicians and songwriters.
