THE HALOES "The Haloes" (Thor Records THOR 1003 S) original UK 1960s/70s (?) FIRST pressing
OBSCURE! As usual, while on a record digging excursion I was chanting over and over "Captain Marryat, Captain Marryat" in my mind, when what did I stumble across? That's right. Not a CAPTAIN MARRYAT album. SAME label, SAME cover, SAME music? Hmmm... maybe not. Most likely a Scottish cabaret band who made an album to sell at gigs (like Captain Marryat), they turn in decent enough versions of "Sweet Caroline" and "Pretty Woman" - so I'm guessing this dates from 1969 - or early 1970s. Like Captain Marryat.
One for Thor Records completists and private press enthusiasts. I've tried googling, which throws up precisely nothing. No doubt only a couple of hundred of these were pressed at the time - RARE!

CONDITION : VG/FAIR (Sleeve/Record)
DESCRIPTION : Record is pretty messy, lots of scuffs and light scratches - so plays with background crackle and the odd click. Labels excellent (on that glued on kinda waxy paper). Sleeve shows general wear, but no seam splits, rips, tears or writing. So, a bit scruffy - but have you ever seen one before? Precisely...
KEYWORDS : Pokora, Galactic Ramble, Vertigo swirl, Vertigo spiral, Neon, Deram Nova, Nepentha, Charisma, pink Island etc.
PAYMENT : Buyer pays in UK pounds, cheque (in the UK), IMO or Paypal.
POSTAGE : 12"s/LPs : £3.75 (UK), £5.50 (Europe) and £8.00 (Rest of World) / 7”s/CDs : £1.75 (UK), £2.75 (Europe) and £3.75 (Rest of World). Double vinyl counts as two etc. Each additional record charged at half price. Orders over £30 must be sent Special Delivery at extra cost of £5.
SMALL PRINT : I am first and foremost a collector, and grade strictly as I wish everyone would. Records will be well-packed between cardboard, and sent in record mailers. In the interests of the environment, these will be recycled whenever possible. Albums will be removed from outer sleeve to avoid seam splits in transit. All records are sent with a certificate of posting, if you wish additional insurance please ask – I cannot be held responsible for missing parcels.
