Fully laminated sleevel Aynsley ?The Hawk? Dunbar is probably one of the most recorded, versatile and experienced blues and progressive rock drummers of the last four decades. John Mayall, John Lennon, Jefferson Starship, Frank Zappa MOI and the Flamingos, to name but a few of the illustrious engagements he has had since he first picked up the sticks at the age of eleven. He formed Retaliation in 1967 and this outstanding debut album was the first of four superb offerings between 1968 & 1970 - not including Blue Whale in 1971 which was a separate venture. They were all classic albums from the era and all deserve to be prefixed with ?great? but this debut is my favourite, just, and it is for me the hardest to find.
