Description
ULTRA RARE 1966 ORIGINAL RELEASE, LA PRESSING, WHICH HAS "John Lennon-Paul McCartney" SONG CREDITS ON THE LABEL, and other features that are discogs listing for this LA Press version. The matrices are:
Matrix / Runout (Label A): ST-1-2576-A-13' 1 ✲ Matrix / Runout (Label B): ST-2-2576-A-13' 1 ✲
(NOTE: this matrix is not exactly the one listed in the most appropriate LA Press I found on discogs, but very close)
These features are provided in discogs, which are all true for this copy:
- Los Angeles pressing with asterisk style star, stamped in runout. - Black rainbow label with "MFD by Capitol ..." rim text - Rim text only goes from about 8:00-4:00 not 9:00-3:00 because it does not have "A subsidiary of Capitol Industries Inc. USA T.M" - Under ST-2576 is (ST-X-1-2576). The text (ST-X-1-2576) starts much farther to the left than similar labels from 1966. - The 1 does not look like an l. - The word SIDE does not appear on the label - Song credits on label are to "John Lennon-Paul McCartney", rather than Lennon-McCartney as in other versions of Revolver - Printed "6" next to RIAA logo on bottom right corner of sleeve back (Imperial Packing Co., Inc.).
The Jacket is in Fair Condition at best, with bottom edge near fully splits, heavy wear also on spine, top edge with splits about 4" from spine. There are no marks, very faint ring beginning back jacket. The LP was found stored in a brown Capitol "Hear the Hits..." sleeve, presumably original. It is also heavily split on one side and bottom center about 6". The record will be removed from the sleeve and stored in a separate plastic sleeve, the sleeve removed from the jacket, and all pieces stored and shipped in a plastic LP holder.
Though there is wear to the jacket and sleeve, the record LOOKS VERY PLAYABLE with a few light visible but unfeelable scratches over mostly clean vinyl, will conservatively grade VG+, likely better.
