A sealed 2-record set, in a fine jacket. Shrink wrap with small breach at lower right corner and there is just a slight rub at that edge. Else as new.

Ships in new corrugated mailer, with corrugated pad inserts to protect corners and surfaces.

Live Wax Grading Process

All items (except new items and cylinder records) are play-graded and scored on a 10-point multi-dimensional scale. Our proprietary grading process utilizes engineering instrumentation and metrics to add objectively quantified record condition to traditional visual inspection and play-grading. The process:

• Record is fluid and vacuum-cleaned
• Record and jacket visually inspected and graded on appearance
• First metrics gathered before playing
• Played through once on each side, additional metrics gathered
• Placed in anti-static inner sleeve, then in original jacket
• Placed in outer sleeve (w/original inner sleeve if present) and stored in divided container with cover in climate-controlled environment
• Record grade determined by statistical combination of collected metrics and visual inspection (e.g., label marks); jacket grade by visual inspection

We believe that Goldmine and other grading standards are useful but far from optimal methods for assessing and representing the condition of a record. The proliferation of + and - qualifiers and the subjectivity of standards application makes it extraordinarily difficult for the buyer/collector to interpret and compare the grades provided by many sellers.

In addition to contemporary metrics, we use grading categories borrowed from the rare book trade, which has a centuries-old tradition in the visual inspection and characterization of the condition of physical objects that are in more-or-less regular use.

Finally, we are conservative in our grading: if in doubt, we err on the side of caution and apply the lower grade. We intend for our customers to be delighted more often than not, and never less than satisfied.

Grades

New (10.0) - a record still sealed in its original shrink wrap, AND with no discernible flaws

As new (10.0) - no apparent or discovered flaws, jacket crisp and stiff, record appears unplayed

Fine (9.5) - no material flaws, shows minimal evidence of handling and play

Near fine (9.0) - slight surface and spindle/ring wear; jacket with some seam and/or corner wear, but no middle splits

Very good (8.0 or 8.5) - readily visible and audible evidence of use, but plays well and looks good; may have cut-out (always disclosed if present)
