El Mocambo Tavern

March 4 & 5, 1977

Toronto, Canada

During the two years the trial dragged on,

I had to attend hearings in Toronto, repeatedly.

Everybody was there, huge crowds with signs

that said, "It´s not fair, leave Keith alone !"

And then there was this blind girl from Montreal,

my blind angel. I´ve already met her a few years

ago. She attended our concerts, as often as possible.

She said, she really wanted to come to our next

show, and naturally we were worried. I talked to

the drivers and asked them to pick her up for our

next concert and make sure she´d arrive safely.

And that was my luck. She went to the judge´s

house, at night after offical hours, knocked on

his door and told him the story. Tawo days later,

I had the next court hearing and he said "Well

you are sentenced to play a charity concert for

the blind", which we gladly did.

That´s why I love Toronto, because problems get

solved in a nice way there. - Keith Richards

Keith was saved by a little blind girl he knews.

He´s still meeting up with her, to this day.

He´ll never forget about his. He really

is a great guy. - Charlie Watts
