I am selling off my Lou Reed/Nico/Velvet Underground records. Here is one of the top ten most sought after and collectible albums of all time. THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO Andy Warhol Banana cover on Verve. This must be the second issue as it has the torso airbrushed out on the back cover. It is Verve V6 5008 1967?. The cover is VG+ has some foxing and light staining but for the most part a very nice and sturdy cover. The banana has a couple creases so it may have been peeled but it is neatly in place and in good shape. There is DSB written in ink on the banana- some people! The vinyl has some light surface noise and tics on both sides but they are minor considering. I gave it a listen one more time for old times sake. I was still impressed at how ahead of the times it was for the late 60's. A psychadelic underground gothic pre industrial masterpiece to say the least. The surface noise was not bad enough to warrant anything less than a VG+. There is a light bit of spots that looks like something spilled on side one. May explain some of the surface and I do believe they will clean off with proper record cleaning system. Even with all this I believe it is one of the cleanest used copies of this record you will ever find as most of the collectors have snatched them up long ago. I think you will be happy.
