(6. INTERFACE ) by (HELDON )...... ....( This is a rare original '70s first pressing by this quintessential progressive French electronic rock band, HELDON, at their best. Featuring the classic Heldon line-up of Richard Pinhas-guitar and electronics, Patric Gauthier-Moog synthesizer and electronics and Franois Auger-drums and electronics. This was one of Heldon's heaviest albums, featuring their most intense and relentless electronic fusillades. The crashing white noise distortion guitar navigations bounce around the trancy swirl electronics backdrop, formulating aural psychedelic sensations...The intricate interlocking rhythms, created by percussion and several synthesizers suggest both the German group Can and, on at least one piece, early Ash Ra Tempel. Some of the Grateful Dead's long, free-form jams might also serve as a touchstone, and tracks like "Bal-a-fou" even begin with loose, vaguely psychedelic fragments which gradually coalesce into a very trippy and propulsive collective improvisation. Probably their best album and a great place to start. If there was ever a band that epitomized perhaps the ultimate union of guitars with electronics, Heldon's holy blaze burns the brightest...
