Description

(LIQUID SMOKE .) by (LIQUID SMOKE )...... ....(A FAN SAYS: Granted, LIQUID SMOKE features amazing playing; powerful, solid, sound organ of Hammond B3, those heavy guitars and dirty heavy vocals delivering powerful tracks in a different scale of level in which few groups of the style could climb ! This hairy underground rock crew features a groovy gritty version of "Hard to Handle" with ragged vocals. Liquid Smoke were a Long Island, New York group that consisted of Sandy Pantaleo (lead vocals), Vince Fersak (guitar), Ben Ninnman (keyboards), Mike Archuleta (bass), and Chas Kimbrell (drums). The group formed while students at ECU and signed with Avco Embassy in 1969, releasing their lone lp in early 1970 which was produced by Vinny Testa who also produced Frijid Pink and co-produced with Shadow Morton the Merchants Of Dream’s 1968 psych masterpiece “Strange Night Voyage”. The group’s killer psych track “Lookin’ For Tomorrow” was the highlight of Peruvian band Gerardo Manuel & El Humo’s debut lp “Apocallypsis”. The album also includes their single “I, Who Have Nothing” a powerful take on the classic hit. Elsewhere the album is solid; psychedelic with blues rock touches filled with dramatic playing. All in all they sound a bit like Frijid Pink mixed with psychedelic edges. The groups self compositions are even better and contain some nice growling vocals, fuzzy rippin' guitar and cool organ runs. I Who Have Nothing Lookin' for Tomorrow Hard to Handle Reflection Warm Touch Shelter of Your Arms Set Me Free It's a Man's World Let Me Down Easy SLEEVE IS VG+ WITH A TINY DRILL HOLE DISC IS VG++ TO M- VERY NICE!! ).......
