Description

This is a RARE version of the record known as "The Rubinstein Story", with an Essay by Clifton Fadiman. LSC-2265 was done in several versions, but the best and the rarest is this deluxe early gate-fold cover with pockets inside for the essay and pictures, and The 1/S 1/S record. This recording was made originally in triple track stereo master tape in Carnegie Hall in New York City in 1958. The inside book which is similar to Soria is loaded with 17 pictures and text, telling the story of how Rubinstein came to be one of the greatest piano soloist of all time. This album is the music of Frederic Chopin, of which Rubinstein was famous for. He is playing "Concerto No.2 in F Minor, Op. 21", and "Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise i E-Flat, Op. 22".  The perspective of this recording in Carnegie Hall is close and the orchestral image is fairly compact as if you are sitting fairly close. The central piano is large and cushioned with surrounding air. The midrange texture of this recording is wonderful. The tone is rich and the texture superb.  The 1/S 1/S is Mint on both sides. The thick book like cover is VG++ with a wonderful picture of Rubinstein in front of his piano with a black background. There is only a slight edge wear on upper right back corner, as its only flaw. There are no seam splits. The inside book is Mint, with no problems at all. Both inside pockets are tight and Not ripped fron sliding in book or record. All in all a superb copy, and very hard to find.  Please observe my other records on e-bay.

To all classical record collectors and audiophiles; I am now in the process of selling my entire collection. I have been a record collector of classical and jazz records for the last 40 years. I have recently decided to start liquidating my collection, which has grown too big. I have already listed many of my second, third and fourth copies of the great RCA’s and Mercury’s. I have now launched in to selling the best and last copies, from my personal collection. In the next few months I will be selling superb copies of the all of the Mercury’s and RCA’s mainly from the stereo era. Please add this to your favorites list. These are the best condition, best stamper and matrix #’s. In other words the Best of the Best. I also will sell eventually all my London Blue backs and Lyrita’s etc.
