10" 78 - Luke Simmons and his Blue Mountain Boys - "I Miss My Swiss"/"Old Shep". 

Luke Simmons and His Blue Mountain Boys came to New Zealand and recorded a lot of stuff with Noel Peach at Astor Studios. All material was released on the TANZA label. The group consisted of the Three Canadians Luke Simmons, Vic Crane Acoustic Bass, Clarence LeVesque Fiddle. The interesting thing was that in NZ they were joined by local musicians Ray Gunter on Lead Guitar, Lloyd Sly, Piano Accordian and Bill Sevesi, who had to adapt his normal Hawaiian style of Steel Guitar to the Country Style. Label has a small faint word but otherwise no writing, tears or stickers.

Winner pays $27.00 airmail worldwide (less to Australia and NZ). I have a 100% success rate in shipping 78s overseas (more than 60 different postings). I wrap the 78 in cardboard, then wrap in bubble wrap and place in a new cardboard carton. The carton is then packed out with newspaper etc. Records can be combined to save on postage and actual cost only is charged. Please do not ask me to ship via other methods (or by economy or seamail) to save costs. We will both be much happier when the record arrives safe and sound. Of course you may pick up as well - a good excuse to visit New Zealand.

Grading scale used

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. I don't use this grade ever.

Excellent (Ex) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and  packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 

Very Good (Vg) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. 

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc. 

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. I only Good/Fair/Poor records if they are especially sought after.
