LULU - Something To Shout About LP (1965) EX copy DECCA label LK 4719

Here is a excellent condition copy of this increasingly rare and highly sought after 1960s first album by the irrepressible Lulu on the red Decca label 

Interestingly the original matrix numbers have been etched out as they were put on the wrong sides of the vinyl, so the correct dead wax matrix numbers are :

Side 1   ARL 6925 IB  (ARL 6926 IB etched out)   Side 2    ARL 6926 IB  (ARL 6925 IB etched out)

THE VINYL

The appearance and overall condition of the flat vinyl is excellent (EX). Each side is bright and retains its black sheen. Only under closer inspection and under bright light are the few very small light scratches and fine surface markings visible. 

THE LABELS

The labels are excellent plus (EX+). With white text upon the smooth red background and, the iconic Decca logo. The only points of note are just a few light spindle hole marks on each side. 

THE SLEEVE

The condition of the non-laminated outer sleeve is excellent (EX). There is just some very light surface wear to the front and to the corner edges and spine. The back has just a few grubby marks and some light age browning. On the track listing, a previous owner has 'ticked' 4 of the tracks with biro which is a pity (see photo 7)

THE SOUND

The quality of the audio is excellent (EX). I have played the album right through on both sides. It has a lovely tone and clarity throughout, even at higher volume. No repeats or sticks anywhere and the only surface noise of any note are a few light clicks on the dead wax between Tracks 3 & 4 on Side One, otherwise there is barely any surface noise at all. Every track plays brilliantly, from "You Touch Me Baby" which opens Side One right through to tje classic "Leave A Little Love" that closes Side Two. 

Comes with a nice standard Decca inner sleeve with no rips or tears. Note: The record will be posted using a plain white replacement inner sleeve for shipping purposes in order to protect the original.

PLEASE NOTE REGARDING LP RECORDS

We always do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to grade our LP records accurately, but you must bear in mind that unless you are buying a vinyl record that  is SEALED, or in NEAR-MINT condition, there will always likely be some type of surface sound, or background noise somewhere on the vinyl, better known as pops or light crackling. If an LP has been played a couple of times, it can never be perfect. This is especially noticeable in classical and jazz records, which have quiet passages. You are buying vinyl LPs because they sound better than CDs, however the pops and crackling come with an LP.

GRADES: Buyer satisfaction is very important, so we always try to describe items accurately and we always check condition under strong light so what we describe is what you get! Grades are based on the UK Rare Record Price Guide (RRPG) grading system. Suffixes (+) & (-) are also used to grade vinyl falling between 2 grades to try and give the most accurate description.
