RECORD GRADE DESCRIPTION

We are not professional record graders nor do we claim to be.  Please keep in mind that record grading is very subjective, in other words, what might be a VG+ to me might be EX to you or Vice versa.  If you feel that we have made a gross mistake in the judgment and grading of a particular record please contact us prior to leaving any feedback.

Mint - Brand spanking new.  Never has seen a record player’s needle.  May be still in original shrink wrap.  Dead stock.  It is very rare that a record will be Mint.

Near Mint - Not brand new, but pretty damn close.  Possible that it may have been played less than 5 times or not have ever been played at all. Shiny luster, no writing on disk.  Superb sound quality.

VG+  - Awesome Quality, great sound.  Shiny record, very clean.  May sometimes  contain writing or markings on the record.  Hairline and very subtle scuffs may be present but not likely. You might hear very faint background noise during song transitions.

VG - Record might be a VG+ with an exception of a few scratches and visible blemishes.  Most records fall into this catagory.  The record might also be a little dirty and in need of a bit of cleaning, may have  been played many many times.  Will most likely contain writing on the record, and subtle scratches.  Most scratches will be superficial and not noticeable with a fingernail.  Will sound very authentic, may have lowered volume, slight hissing, pops and occasional clicks.  Record will definitely play thru, but will need some cleaning.

G – Not a good record to play.  This is a “hit or miss” record, it might or might not play all the way thru with skipping, sometimes depends on the needle arm setting.  Dirty, lots of scratches, over played, written on and often contain whitening of the grooves.  Poor sound quality with hissing, popping, clicking and lowered volume.  Record may be rare or scarce enough to just add to a collection, but generally nothing to be proud of.  Very original.

**Extra “+” (plus) or “-“(minus) will denote the strength/weakness of the quality.  For example:   “VG++” might be really close to a NM- grade but just not quit because of subtle imperfections. **
