Description

LUTHER THOMAS HUMAN ARTS ENSEMBLE : Funky Donkey Vol. 1 LP (Creative Consciousness [USA] CC 001) 1977.

Record is VG+ with superficial light marks only. It plays fine with occasional light surface noise audible during quiet parts, nothing bad at all (it's a pretty loud record). Cover is also VG+ with light wear, a few creases, and a few inconspicuous spots on back.

Clean original copy of the first LP as leader by the great St. Louis multi-instrumentalist Luther Thomas, featuring various members of the early '70s St. Louis free music scene (Black Artists' Group/Human Arts Ensemble). This was recorded in 1973 and privately released circa 1977, later reissued on the German Circle label with a different cover. "Volume 2" was recorded at the same time but not released until the 21st Century CD reissue on Atavistic's "Unheard Music Series".
