Luzifer was founded in 2009 by L. Steeler (bass) and S. Castevet (vocals, guitar, drums) in Hamm/Westphalia as a side project of Vulture, which was celebrated in the underground. The »Rise« EP was released in 2015, followed in 2018 by the »Black Knight« 7" single on High Roller Records. Meanwhile, Vulture drummer Gereon Deceiver has joined the line-up of Lucifer, who also appeared on the seven songs of the first full album »Iron Shackles « can be heard. Stefan Castevet explains: "With Gereon joining Vulture, this has happened over the years. Gereon also takes over the drums on Lucifer, takes part in the background choirs and took part in the songwriting. He brought a lot of energy into the final stages of preparation, and since I haven't been behind the drums for many years anyway, he's a real blessing for the band (laughs)." "Sound-wise, that's what we wanted to sound like on the album like Quartz in 'Satan's Serenade' and there you also get a summer note like in Rocker's 'Mighty Thor'", Stefan outlines the stylistic coordinate system of "Iron Shackles". "I don't really know whether we succeeded. A lot of things then took on a life of their own in the recording and mixing process. We don't have any big targeted musical influences in this form. At least not consciously. A lot of 70s stuff and then something in the direction of heavy load is perhaps the closest thing to it." In addition to "Der goldene Reiter", a cover version of Joachim Witt's NDW hit cast in iron, there is another number with German lyrics on the album find, namely "Hexer (In Drei Teufels Namen)", about which Stefan Castevet reports: "We already had a track in German on our first release. We just find that very charming. Back then it was GDR heavy metal, which we celebrated, this time we just felt like it. Don't do that many. By the way, the text comes from our friend Ela from Iron Kobra. He can do something better than us!"
