Description
As follows:
Decca LXT 2596
Bach Partita 2, Bruch Violin Concerto 1.
Campoli.
Orange / Gold Heavy Mono Pressing.
There is a sleeve / label error, as Side One plays the Violin Concerto, and Side Two is the Partita.
(The labels correctly represent the correct sides pressed, but the sleeve listing reads the opposite).
Original Press, No Stereo Equivalent; Made in England.
Condition Vinyl: VG/VG
Fully play tested using 1.25g arm weight on a Rega Planar 2.
There are some light surface marks to both sides, more notably to Side 2, which looks like skating marks.
Side One (Concerto) commences with some crackle and a few pops, and a few brief passages of light clicks and pops but the sound is still good and clear.
Side Two (Partita) also starts with some crackle, and a few isolated clicks. There are several short passages of play during the Fifth Movement where there are several sequences of light clicks, however, there are no instances of unpleasant distortion.
A great performance, and very listenable, despite the light surface marking,
A professional clean would benefit the sound..
Condition Sleeve: GOOD
Lots of tape reinforcing, which has yellowed with age, and tape residue, fairly heavy corner wear.
