Description
On offer is a 1973 first British pressing of Lynyrd Skynyrd's first LP, MCA Records MCG 3502. In Britain there was no Song of the South label. This was the first release of the LP there. The matrix numbers in the dead wax end in A1 and B1, indicating a first pressing. The record comes in a gatefold cover.
The record plays great, sounds great -- full, bright and detailed. The vinyl has most of its original shine and gloss. Just a couple of slight hairlines. No significant surface noise that I can hear -- close to being totally clean sound. A small amount of spindle wear. Grades Excellent by the Record Collector magazine definition "The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality."
The gatefold cover is in Excellent Minus condition. It has no splits, writing, tears or significant creasing. But it does have some wear on the edges, spine and corners. See photos.
