Up for auction is a beautiful original pressing of the Lynyrd Skynyrd album Second Helping, originally released on Sounds Of The South (MCA-438) in 1974:

Condition: The cover looks great, colorful and clean, no significant wear.  No ring wear, no seam splits.  Back is also clean with some light hints of age discoloration along bottom edge (see photos).  Spine is nice, titles are legible, with light aging.  Corners are sharp, not bumped or creased.  Very well-preserved original, super nice. Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl is also beautiful, still retains its original deep glossy shine.  No apparent scratches or scuffs, just some faint, superficial signs of having been taken out of paper inner sleeve a few times.  Inner sleeve is crisp, unworn.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle hole.  Looks like this record has maybe been played only once previously, very clean.  Hard to upgrade. Grade: Excellent Plus (EX+)

I remove the records with inner sleeves from the covers prior to packing.  I sandwich the record between two pieces of cardboard for padding and protection.  I also reinforce the corners of the shipping box to protect the corners of the record jacket from damage.
