THEY RARELY come this good. The second and arguably definitive studio album from this consumate Southern rock band featuring a number of stage favourites including 'Sweet Home Alabama', 'Workin' For MCA', 'The Needle And The Spoon', 'Call Me The Breeze' and my favourite all time Skynyd cut 'The Ballad Of Curtis Loew'. The beauty of this album is the very fact that although Skynyrd were a full-on hard rock band with two guitars they always knew when to lift the peddle form the metal and settle on more subtle arrangements, hence the beauty of their mid pace songs. Truly one of the great southern rock albums, 'Second Helping' still sounds as fresh and as vital is it did on the day of release. A record that should be a compulsory addition to any record collection - preferably on original vinyl!

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: MCA, UK, 1974

Vinyl: Very clean and shiny condition. Very little signs of use - one or two lone spindle marks. A few tiny scuffs only visible under a bright light - primarilly due to sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Grades as MINT-!

Cover: No signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated single cover - retains full printers bloom. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases - perfect shop fresh. Spine is straight, stiff and uncrushed. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 41 years after release. Grades as perfect MINT!
