LYNYRD SKYNYRD – STREET SURVIVORS (MCA-3029) RARE, RECALLED “FLAMES” COVER!
RECORD: VG++ (EXC) with just some extremely light paper sleeve scuffs on the clean, glossy surfaces. The labels are without any writing or stickers, but do show several light spindle marks.
COVER: VG++ (EXC) with no edge separations, tape, cuts, writing or unwanted stickers. This is the very first cover design for “Street Survivors”, which was released just a few days before the tragic plane crash that took the lives of band members, Steve Gaines and Ronnie Van-Zant. Note the eerie image of Steve Gaines with his head appearing to be engulfed in flames and he is the only one in the photo whose eyes are closed. Upon the news of the tragedy, these covers were quickly ordered to be recalled from all distributors. The album was re-issued using the small photo on the back side with the black background. Both inserts which were enclosed with this album are included and there are no tears or writing on either insert. There are just a few bends plus wrinkling from handling.
