Description
Set of Two, 2-sided discs. Aluminum core Nitrocellulouse lacquer electrical transcription discs. " Orthacoustic Instantaneous " lathe-created discs recorded from the network feed for radio station replay. It appears the station that recorded these is KGU in Honolulu Hawaii, the island's first radio station. Notice the yellow grease pencil marks on the records. These marks identified where the commercials are located, so the playback operator could avoid those on subsequent airings of the episode. Record is playable through the grease pencil, but noisier within the grease pencil markings. Screen Directors Playhouse was a 50's radio serial program that offered condensed versions of popular motion picture screenplays. Each program is about 1 hour in length. This program is called "The Big Lift" and stars Paul Douglas and Edmund OBrien. These productions are considered as having very high production value in the arena of radio dramatic presentation. The records are in fair playable condition. There is no progressive chipping of the laquer or chipping threats or ingress to the groove. Will be shipped via media mail, sandwich packaged in three layers of cardboard, approx 2 lbs.
