George being a minister of the gospel, raised his family in a Christian atmosphere. Religious singing and musical accompaniment came natural and their talents were appreciated everywhere they went. Through the years there have been heartaches and disappointments as common in large families, but none has surpassed the total belief that God would see them through. Each member can truly say "Love Lifted Me." Several years ago, George passed away to his heavenly home leaving the Tomes family tradition behind to follow on. Each member Harlan, Marion, Sherman, William, Goldie, Ruby, Jewell, Pearl, Carl, Junior and Sam are borned again Christians. Each have encouraged their own children to sing for the glory of God, which has led to other groups. It is my sincere feeling that this album will be precious memories to friends who have heard them sing and inspiration for young Christians to dedicate more of their life to God. I am sure you will enjoy old favorites "I'm Free Again" and "Land of Beulah" as well as new ones such as "Lord You Don't Need To Move A Mountain" written by the youngest, Sam Tomes.
