Recorded in the late 40s for the Apollo label of NYC. This is the rare French pressed (for the Danish market?) issue on Vogue.
In November 1938 Campbell first recorded as Rev. Benny Campbell for Vocalion in Columbia, South Carolina. Years latter he would record again for the Apollo label in 1947 and 1950.
Superb hand-clapping, foot-stompin' Gospel with some fantastic tamborine and piano playing. Female vocals on I'll Fly Away.
