Comments: Latin or boogaloo versions of two hits from the mid 60’s, Shirley Ellis’ 1964 “Nitty Gritty” and Lee Dorsey’s “Ya Ya”. “Nitty Gritty” in particular lends itself beautifully to this treatment and has a great punch in the rhythm section – excellent!
