London HLE 8396 (noc, but had it's centre still been intact it would have been a Tri).
A highly collectable item here by the Fabulous Lavern Baker. Although 'I Can't Love You Enough' is the 'A' side, i consider this a double 'A' side 'cos i loved everything she did. Because of this i have graded both sides of this wonderful record. I have to give it 2 grades because it plays better than it looks on both sides.
Looks wise i grade this as 'VG' both sides. Both sides retain a sheen, and looking at it under a 60W light bulb there are a few light scratches on both sides of the vinyl. The 'A' side has a couple of very small scuffs on the outro, while the 'AA' side has a larger scuff along the record (this looks like a water mark so maybe it can be erased.
Playing wise i grade both sides as between 'VG+' and 'E'. There is light background noise on both sides, but no nasty clicks or anything malicious. Both sides are still a very enjoyable play and the power of Lavern's voice comes shining through.
Many dealers would have no qualms in grading this whole package as 'E', and would want a starting price of well over £70.00. But i'm not a dealer, just someone wanting to give decent records decent new homes. With my starting price there's an absolute bargain waiting for some lucky bidder here.
