This vinyl record, titled "Le Jazz Primitif" is a rare piece of music history from the 1960s. The record was purchased when a family member was working in Trinidad and there is a stamp for the shop from which it was purchased, HI FI Centre Anthony's Arcade and another Made in Trinidad.
Featuring Rupert Clemendore & John Buddy Williams - Le Jazz Primitif is not "primitive," but sophisticated jazz improv "with the Trinidad touch." The musical settings range from smooth lounge jazz with vibes, piano, bass, and drums to funky importations of traditional Venezuelan joropo folk dances into jazz combos.

This is a very rare original 1961 Trinidad press on the Cook Laboratories black label with greenish print on a heavy vinyl LP. Note that 'microfusion' has been blacked out on the album label, but remains on the cover.
