Description
Lead Belly. Original Musicraft brand 1939 Blues album of 5 disks. These are the original-issue 10 inch 78 rpm pressings, not the 1960s or later reissues. Songs included are:
Frankie and Albert (first half)/Looky, Looky, Yonder Black Betty - Yallow Woman's Door Bells.
Frankie and Albert (completion)/Ain't Goin' Down to the Well No Mo' - Go Down Old Hannah.
The Boll Weevil/De Kalb Blues.
The Gallis Pole/The Bourgeois Blues.
Poor Howard - Green Corn/Fannin Street.
The records are in good condition with some surface scratches, the labels are bright and almost unworn, no cracks, chips, etc. They seem to be in good playing order. Great sepia-toned photo of cotton pickers. The folder is in quite nice shape. I have not played these because I want them to stay in the best possible order. Music from the personal collection and estate of the late, great folk musician. Sam Hinton. I will be listing other of Hinton's items later if this sale goes well.
