Description
Offered for sale in excellent condition, is this seriously RARE find - a personally autographed photograph of Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant which he signed for me in late 1979 when I conspired (with an adult chaperone!) to meet him at a Wolverhampton Wanderers football match...
The photograph is 5" x 3 1/2" (12.5 cm x 9cm), and is of Robert performing on stage with Led Zeppelin at Knebworth in August 1979.
The inscription on the back (which I have blurred somewhat on the photo I uploaded for obvious reasons!) is in blue ballpoint pen, and reads:
"To Julie
Keep the faith
Robert Plant"
It is quite obviously personally written - not an impersonal rush-job - and is one of the loveliest Robert Plant signatures you are ever likely to find...it is his full name, and really beautifully scripted.
If you are a Julie, or want to gift this to a Julie, it is really quite a find! But even if you are not, it is still a wonderful collector's piece.
The story behind the autograph is also colourful! After a lengthy chat (the whole of half-time), Robert signed the picture for me and asked me how old I was. When I told him I was 12, he asked me with typical rakish charm, "Could you keep coming back here until you're 16, please?"...what a guy!!! :-)
THANK YOU FOR LOOKING, AND HAPPY BIDDING!
