Description
Led Zeppelin, debut album, Atlantic 588 171 STEREO, the closest to the legendary very first Turquoise pressing. Cover (EX) laminated both sides, "Plastic bags can be dangerous" inner, grey strip at bottom, heavy vinyl, plum label with rare "Superhype/Jewel" (no Warners) credit, hand corrected matrices, and most importantly of all, fresh, clean sound. Minimal surface noise. Minimal spindle wear, a few insignificant creases on the cover.

MacNeill cover (EX) laminated both sides, "Plastic bags can be dangerous" inner, grey strip at bottom, flat (absolutely no warping at all) thick, heavy vinyl, plum label with rare "Superhype/Jewel" (no Warners) credit, hand corrected matrices & A//1 B//1 matrices on run off grooves, and most importantly of all, fresh, clean sound. One or two marks visible under very bright light which do not affect play. Minimal (if any) surface noise, a tiny bit of static here and there - easily removed by a clean on a Keith Monks or equivalent system. Minimal spindle wear, both labels clean, a few insignificant creases on the cover, colours clean and bright, with no wear to spine. I'd grade the whole album as EXCELLENT +. Lovely analogue sound all the way through. Amazing warmth from the grooves yet razor sharp contrast between the acoustic/electric tones and the loud/quiet sections, (of which this album has many) which was lost on subsequent pressings and digital versions. Sounds like Plant is actually in the room with you on 'Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You'! This is a very fine first pressing - in fantastic condition considering it's only one year younger than me! - which will only increase in value.
