1st ISSUE "E J Day" LAMINATED GATEFOLD COVER WITH ROTATING WHEEL.

Very Rare 'CELEBRATION' press. This is a very early copy with the mistake on the label of side one showing “Celebration Day” as “Celebration” which was corrected on later plum label copies.

VINYL CONDITION - Nr MINT

This is a lovely piece of glossy vinyl, a great example of this rare classic press. Great mirror like sheen with only a couple of the faintest hairlines only.

AUDIO QUALITY - Album Played For Grading: Yes – brilliant! - Nr MINT sound quality throughout

This great record plays great, beyond its visual grading . Strong, undistorted sound free of pops or clicks. Crisp and clear with minimal background noise, virtually undetectable. The record plays with staggering power with a minimum of any surface sound during the tracks.

LABELS - The labels are in Nr MINT condition, the 1960's red & maroon colours of the Atlantic label are only on original pressings, they were re-designed to orange and green colours in late 1971. Minimal spindle traces.

THE COVER - EXCELLENT

This is a great example of the classic Zep 3 album. An original first UK press cover, with prefect working wheel, sitting snugly on its spindle, the front of the gatefold being open at top and bottom, as only the first UK press covers are meant to be. All later covers came in a more standardised gatefold format.

The front is EXCELLENT with minimal scuffing to the edges. The opening edge is very square and un frayed. The back cover has some minor yellowing and a couple of light laminate creases.

the Spine and spine text is totally intact, and again very square. the inner gatefold is unmarked. all round, this is a really great example

Rarity - It is getting harder and harder to find good examples of early PLUM pressings of Zep 3, and very hard to find ones in this condition. More than that, this is a rare CELEBRATION misspress UK pressing, with the Ist Press correct cover, all in Excellent condition

All first issues of "Led Zeppelin 3" have two cryptic messages inscribed in the run-out grooves. (The shiny non-music part between the last track and the label!) Side1 has "Do What Thou Wilt" and Side 2 has "So Mote It Be", the Crowley text relates to Jimmy Page and his interest in magic and mysticism. Page is reportedly one of the biggest collectors of Crowley artefacts.

The motto comes exclusively on the first pressing's, adding an air of the mystical to the album.

MY RECORD GRADING SYSTEM IS AS FOLLOWS - (BASED ON RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE U.K. )

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
