Description
Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin IV
Atlantic 1970
Lovely copy of the true 1st pressing with Peter Grant credit on the labels, earliest A3 B3 matrix codes and all important inverted feather on side 2 labels. Therefore denoting this as the very rare and sought after Version 1 copy!
Vinyl: Very Good+ and not far off Excellent in most respects. Lightly played and for the most part a glossy, clean and vibrant playing surface. There are a couple of visible marks on the playing surface but nothing that causes anyhting problematic. I have given this a play test and for the vast, vast majority the audio is superb. There are some quiet areas where a light ticking can be heard and some light static but this really is a fantastic copy that is a pleasure to listen to. The labels are vibrant and clean with only light spindle trail evidence. The overall summation - also taking into account the beautiful sleeve, is that this copy wasn't played very often, but was treated a little clumsily when it was, hence the marks.
Sleeve: Excellent. Superb sleeve. Close to Near Mint. Often seen in horrendous condition, this is the original 1st issue sleeve with a lighter, more flexible, matt finish card with a narrower spine than later copies and a tinge of pink to it. Barely any signs of handling or storage.
Inner/insert: Luckily this copy seems to have been always kept in a separate inner as the original here is one of the best I've seen with just one small side split. Very hard to find like this. It is the original brown paper inner with flipbacks and no record code. Stunning.
