Description
An original 1st press of HOTH on the USA Atlantic label from 1973. Matrix [B/D] with the Presswell number. Etching "RL Sterling" & "AT & PR". Please note that the labels include the Atlantic address as "1841 Broadway" as you'd expect to find on these 1st pressings. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold sleeve with two stickers on the front. One is a white sticker with track information. The second sticker is the 'DJ Promo' one which gives suggested cuts for air play and mentions it is 'not-for-sale'. Also included is the original thick-paper lyric inner sleeve with the original "1841 Broadway" address. So,100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In super condition and has only seen very light use. Just take a look at those labels shots..minimal use....and even some of the original waste vinyl is still present in the spindle hole. Under close inspection we could only make a few bag-rash type marks...very superficial type marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. If you're in search of a really top-level copy do give this one serious consideration. HOTH is a real stickler for clean audio and you really need to find a copy that's as close to perfectly preserved as is humanly possible in order to achieve truly impressive results. This copy really delivers the goods even in those very quiet slow-build passages. A nigh on perfect player...All I could detect were a couple of static crackles in a couple of isolated spots in 'RAIN'. And even finding RAIN playing this clean is extremely unusual as it is one of THE fussiest tracks going. A truly stunning rendition and one that would be nigh on impossible to even match.
Cover (Ex-) In very smart condition - particularly considering it's a 1st press and possibly ended up in the hands of a radio station. A lovely clean front with the only minor fault being a biro mark and a couple of scuffs down in that bottom left corner. The rear is in equally good condition with only very lightest handling. The interior is in excellent condition - no issues at all. Edge wear is very light and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is in excellent order too with only super light wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Totally unaged. No markings at all. A one inch bottom edge split.
