A2/ B2 matrices ! With the master signature, R STERLING, etched in upper case on BOTH sides of the vinyl!!!!!Impossible to locate COMPLETE with the ultra rare UK made ,1st issue ,OBI strip, normally NEVER seen on this vintage classic!

The above matrices confirm ,that this was one of the earliest pressings of this monumental rock classic. This record was pressed before the initial UK first batches were sold. This vinyl, with A2/B2 matrices, confirm that it was made as part of the pre prepared records batch ,which still did not meet the demands of the UK public and that is when German/French imports were brought in to meet the excessive demand.

There are unique differences on this album:

For example - A matt gatefold sleeve-later ones were made with a glossy finish.

A soft textured ,inner lyrics sleeve-later issues were thicker with no textured finish.

No Warners logo on record label, later issues have the W logo.

THE master signature R STERLING on BOTH sides of the vinyl, ONLY found on the very first UK pressings!!!

The exquisite loud cut engineering , which made the audio tones so much better , compared to the later pressings.

And the most elusive for collectors’ ,OBI STRIP is here too !!! Most were lost or discarded as they were found to be a great nuisance. The OBI is virtually impossible to locate and is only found on the earliest very first pressings. What a find as almost impossible to locate now. This one is still IN TACT and in ONE piece. NO damage what so ever save for one tiny nick on top edge, next to the seam which joins the strip together !. Oh so rare! In excellent+ condition !!!!

Sleeve Ex +

Opening gatefold with the most beautiful of inner faces . The deep turquoise blue is unfaded, so vivid and vibrant to the voyeur, whilst fading into a greenish yellow hue. No top edge wear, nor any visible on lower edge and spine is solid and square.

Spinal column is near perfection, square and solid.

NO ring wear visible on outer faces. When angled against a strong light, no blemishes at all to be concerned about, no creasing visible on front face and nor on reverse, again, near perfect!

 Heavy thick card manufacture . Unlaminated confirming the earliest 1st issue .

NO feathering to opening edge. Just one minor scuff on one corner, the others are sharp and pointed !

Excellent+ grading .

Fresh feel and appears almost factory new. Beautiful exhibit!

Inner sleeve

Earliest issue ,with textured soft paper manufacture. NO seam splits ! MacNeill Press printed, confirming a very early issue. Sharp corners. Minimal discoloration! NO creasing! Only one age mark, to grace this coveted inner sleeve. Excellent+ condition.

Labels

NO Warner logos! Concentric relief detail superb! Green/orange format . Superhype credits. Remarkable condition with no serious damage/rips nor tears ,nor graffiti, no spindle wear visible .There is some crusting in places on both labels but nothing else to mention .THE earliest labels without the Warner logo. A light spindle trace only (1-2 spindle lines visible if one strains the eye) but extremely faint and are difficult to pick up, even against strong daylight .

Audio

EXCELLENT/+ aural delivery.  Absolutely sensational channels, conveying those delicate tones ,with a razor sharp edge ! So very rare to find on these records which were played and played into submission. Exceptional grooves with mostly clear audio channels.  !!! Without a doubt, one of the best deliveries ever heard from this release. Will prove difficult to match .The outstanding loud cut engineering , is so poignant ,compared to later issues. Tones conveyed in sensational fashion and are beautifully mastered. Many silent pieces of music, which require exceptional channel clarity ,and this will not disappoint. The quality is so clear that, one can hear the squeak of the tight guitar strings ,as the fingers brush across them ! Make no mistake, this is the album for the serious vinyl enthusiast!

Vinyl

Ultra rare first A2/B2 matrix the very first press of this awesome release

Nr mint visual appearance under ordinary light . A distinctive mirror like sheen with highly polished surfaces . Has a couple of extremely faint surface marks ,caused through the sleeve brushing the vinyl surface ,visible against a strong light and if angled 45 degrees,but these do disappear beneath its mirror like glaze! Sterling RL inscribed on run offs in upper case.

O B I strips were only issued with these very first and earliest presses but were such a nuisance and were soon discarded. This album presentation  is offered COMPLETE with the all elusive OBI strip . Please note that this OBI strip is not from a foreign release and is THE very first UK OBI strip which is the original and was retained by the original owner ,since it was originally bought, all those decades ago. A superb exhibit !

One of  THE earliest and FIRST UK pressings of this magnificent rock classic. So rare to find in this remarkable condition . Please do not miss this opportunity of owning this album COMPLETE as it came all those years ago. Impossible to find now like this . Will be hard pressed to find a better example of this monumental Zeppelin rock classic .
