Description

Houses of The Holy a 1st Issue shortly after general release in 1973 on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B3. Etching 'RL Sterling'. There's no Warners logo in the perimeter text which is indicative of the 1st issue. The record comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover. Also included is the original textured inner sleeve with opening slot. So, this is 100% original and 100% complete...And to top it all this baby is in pristine condition!
Vinyl (Ex+) When a record like this turns up all you can do is just sit back and marvel at it. Look at those label shots.... this Lp has seen very very minimal use. Under close inspection the shiny surfaces are devoid of any markings. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with amazing clarity and barely any interference at all. Why is this important? ...because HOTH contains a lot of low-key audio and interference will stand out like a sore thumb. This copy, however, is mind-blowingly well preserved. Mr Ludwig's cut is absolutely superb and only on an early, well preserved copy, do you get a feel for just how good a job they made of it. Audio purity is really really outstanding with excellent detail and perfect tonal balance throughout the audio spectrum. Believe me when I say this is THE definitive way to listen to this LP. Just listen to 'No Quarter'....what a great rendition....
Cover (Ex+) Again someone has taken unbelievable care of this cover - it feels like new..which is no mean feat considering it is 43 years old. Front, back and the interior are almost faultless. The only thing which is vaguely noticeable is a tiny scratch to the rear in the extreme bottom-right [2c.m.]. Other than that we are talking the best preserved cover of HOTH I have ever got my hands on. It lies perfectly flat with excellent rigidity. The openings are still sharp. This cover clearly has not seen much use - there's just no way it would be in this condition otherwise.
Inner (NM) Never have I seen the inner sleeve in this condition. Absolutely perfectly white..and I mean perfect. Not even the merest hint of ageing. Once again..how on earth? No imperfections of any kind.
