Description
- A 1969 UK first pressing of Led Zeppelin I (Atlantic, cat# 588171) with the corrected matrix vinyl V03 and early Polydor/E.J. Day sleeve, this is a prized collector's item.
- In Near Mint (NM) condition, a fully laminated sleeve with the rare "orange lettering" and "grey shadow stripe" variant is highly sought after.
Original as sold vinyl records; Atlantic red and plum labels with Superhype / Jewel Music credits on both labels. The vinyl has some hairline scratches, but after a couple of good cleans has VG audio playback (used with some background noise). Still a collectable and rare variant. Please only purchase if you are clear that this is not a mint record, but is a slice of rare rock history!
Fully laminated sleeve with orange lettering and the grey stripe across the base of the front cover. This issue has the corrected stamped matrix number on both sides which the stamped second 8 from left have been struck through and replaced with a hand-etched 8. This one was slightly later issue of the 1st Pressing variation Superhype Music Credit labels.
Earliest plum label releases can be found with the seven variations, first three shown below:
01: 1st Pressing variation has Turquoise sleeve lettering and Superhype Music/Jewel Music Publishing credits labels.
02: 1st Pressing variation has Turquoise sleeve lettering and Superhype Music/Jewel Music Publishing credits labels. This issue has on side one the "Superhype mis-credit label", label lists songs 1, "3", 4 as Superhype Music and then 3 again as Jewel Music.
03: This item for sale is the 1st Pressing variation w/ Orange sleeve lettering with grey stripe across the base of the front cover and (Superhype Music/Jewel Music Publishing credits labels on both sides w/ corrected matrix and scratched out '8' re-etched).
