I never listen to Led Zeppelin, I have all their records and know and enjoy all their songs, but I never put them on for whatever reason. So that said when I put this record on early this morning to check the condition to say I was blown away would be an understatement.
Somehow I had forgotten what an absolute savage John Bonham was on drums. I don't understand how anything can take a thrashing like one of his drum kits did and it be anything other than a smoldering pile of nothing when he finished a set.
Anyway, the record sounds amazing! It's a really clean copy, a little static between tracks, but even that is minimal. It's one of those records that really sounds like the time it was recorded, like an audio time capsule.
The jacket isn't perfect and has a little shelf wear and discoloration, but considering the age it's in pretty good shape. It has some tape reinforcing the top and bottom seem that blends in so well I just noticed it taking some pictures of the corners. The sleeve is in pretty good shape also, but it's that super thin newspaper like stuff used for sleeves back then and it's incredibly fragile.
All in all this is a great copy of a great record.
